Rufus.

Rufus is the tallest donkey on the Wildbrook roster and the calmest one in a crowd. He moves at the pace of a careful conversation, holds his head with the dignity of someone who has had his portrait painted before, and lets children pet his ears without flinching.

He travels with his bonded partner Tonka — the two of them came to us together from a working ranch outside Cle Elum and have not spent a night apart since. Tonka is the slightly louder of the pair. Rufus is the diplomat.

He wears a custom oak side-pack designed for tall cans and stemmed flutes. He poses for cameras like he was raised by a magazine art director. Reserve Rufus early — he is the donkey most often requested by photographers, and we cap his schedule at twelve events per month so the work stays good for him.
