Valais Blacknose Sheep · Native to the Swiss Alps

Beau.

"The fairytale. A puppy in a wool coat — and the only one of his kind on the Wildbrook roster."

Beau looks like he wandered out of a storybook because, in a way, he did. Valais Blacknose are native to the Swiss Alps and remain one of the rarest breeds in the United States. He is, by some accounting, one of fewer than two thousand of his kind in the country.

He has the temperament of a golden retriever in a sheep body. Guests reach for him without thinking. He is a puppy in a wool coat, and he is the only one of his kind on the Wildbrook roster — and very likely the only one you have met or will meet at a Pacific Northwest event this year.

Beau requires a slightly slower service tempo. We pair him with experienced handlers and venues with a quiet corner. Editorial photographers tend to lose their minds over him in a polite, professional way. We understand.
